We Quarter Moon Ranch use them all the time while on our trail rides.  They fit under your headstalls and don't interfere with the bits and you don't have to take up room in your saddle bags to carry cumbersome halters and lead rope's or tie them on your saddle.  They're made from  polypropylene which resists rot, mold and mildew.  No annoying hardware to break, and they can easily be cleaned with soap and water.  They begin as a 25 ft piece of rope.......11 well placed knots and the rope becomes a halter.  They fit a wide range of horses.
